Devon Cessna

Devon Cessna is a Bass 2 in DRS and holds the office of Ticketing and Finance Manager for the organization. He started his choral journey in middle school where he continued to develop his skills by participating in a plethora of musicals, straight plays, Medieval Dinners, All-county Chorus’, All-State Chorus’, and Honors Chorus’ throughout grade school. He continued his journey in college where he was inspired to teach and influence the younger generation through music the same way he was inspired as a child. While in college, Devon crossed in the Fall of 2017 into Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America which allowed him to take part in leadership roles for several different organizations such as being President for the National Association for Music Education, the Diversified Greek Council, and the Order of Omega Honors Society for Greek Life. After finishing up his undergraduate degree in Music Education with a Minor in Musical Theatre at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Devon is currently the Chorus and Theatre teacher at Alston Ridge Middle School in Cary where he hopes to build the chorus program. His goal in the next five years will be to become a National Board Certified Teacher with the hope to travel the world by the age of 30 before deciding to continue teaching or move to NYC and audition for Broadway. Devon wishes all of his ensemble members a “broken leg” this Concert Season.
